The Kedarkantha Expedition is a classic 5-day Himalayan winter trek in Uttarakhand’s Govind Pashu Vihar National Park, starting from the base village of Sankri (~6,400 ft) and culminating at a summit elevation of 12,500 ft (3,810 m). Covering approximately 20 km on foot, the route climbs through dense pine and oak forests, past the high-altitude lake of Juda Ka Talab, and onto open alpine meadows. Rated as an easy-to-moderate, non-technical climb, it is renowned for its thrilling pre-dawn ridge ascent and an unobstructed 360-degree summit panorama of iconic Garhwal peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak.
